Your Will is an important legal document because it gives binding instruction how your assets and estate should be distributed when you die.
It is important that you understand your Will and review it during your lifetime, particularly after life events and changes in your life, such as the birth of new children, marriage (where your current Will becomes void), inheritances that you may get and large purchases such as property you may make. You should also be aware that on marriage your Will becomes invalid/void – and unless you draft a new Will you assets could be distributed according to Intestacy Laws – which more often than not is not how people would there possessions to be shared out.
Having an accurate and robust Will also means that your assets can be accessed and distributed quicker at a distressing time for your loved ones, including speeding up any application for Probate.
